Session # 22: Business Intelligence for Middle Market Organizations, 7:00am - 7:50am.

Organizations are increasingly using business intelligence and other reporting tools to support their managerial and financial reporting needs.  When these systems sit outside of the general ledger or bring in data from other systems, additional risks can be introduced into the business reporting environment.  Attend this session to learn about the additional information risks involved when business intelligence technologies are utilized for decision support.

Session # 34: IT Budgeting for Controllers, 11:10am - 12:00pm.

IT costs are often a mix of equipment refresh cycles, convoluted software licenses, and often confusing IT service provider proposals.  Add into the mix, cloud computing and managed service providers and how do you even start to develop an IT budget?  This session will provide an overview of an Excel-based IT budgeting approach that enables organizations to take a more proactive approach to managing their IT investment.  It will also cover some basic IT knowledge that Controllers or CFOs need to know to validate the budgets that their IT Managers may be submitting to them.  Clear the fog over IT budgeting by attending this session.

Session # 42: How CPAs Add Value to a System Implementation, 2:15pm - 3:05pm.

A good system implementation requires both IT and business knowledge to be successful.  Non-technical CPAs can add value to a system implementation by providing process management, data quality, and internal controls (financial, operations, and compliance) expertise.  Join us to learn how to reapply core CPA skills to add project value and provide career advancement.
